I grew up in many rural small towns, very naive to the dynamics of a big city. It wasn't until high school that I was exposed to the issue of homelessness, and the important role nonprofits play to support our fellow community members in need. Since then I have given my time, resources, and encouraged our family values of empathy and supporting others.
When I conceived the idea for Inspired Jules, I knew supporting women would be at the heart of the company. I have seen how much better culture is in the workplace and in communities when women support other women.
This is why you will see instead of focusing Inspired Jules solely on my creations, I have chosen to feature other women makers and provide my e-commerce business as a platform to share their talent, tell their stories, and give them another stream of income.
I also want to make Inspired Jules a place where your purchase has purpose and impact in multiple ways. I have personally supported Mary's Place over the years and their commitment to supporting women made them a natural recipient of our pledge to give back a portion of our profits each year.
If you live in the Seattle area, you know the great work of Mary's Place, which was established in 1999 as a day center for homeless women. It started with a structured daily schedule that remains in effect today: two meals a day, hygiene facilities, showers, laundry, medical care, support groups, and ample resources for housing, employment, and benefits. Over the decades, Mary's Place has raised millions of dollars with the help of community partners to serve thousands of women and their families. They have responded to every crisis seen in our community, and their impact is profound.
When you purchase from Inspired Jules you are supporting women makers and helping with essential supplies needed by Mary's Place. Thank you, your purchase has impact!
